People won’t be able to submit Form 15CA and 15CB from mid night of 31.05.2021 | New Income tax e-filing website with new domain address

As discussed earlier Income tax e filing website will not be available from 01.06.2021 to 06.06.2021 as it will be completely revamped and in this regard we had even discussed various new features which will be available in this new income tax e-filing website.

Regarding the same CBDT has further made some new announcements which are as under:

1. Filing of Form 15CB and 15CA won’t be available:

“Taxpayers would not be able submit Form-15CA & 15CB during the intervening period of revamp of e-filing portal, i.e. from midnight of 31st May till midnight of 6th June, 2021. Those who intend making any remittance during blackout period from 1st to 6th June 2021 may kindly submit and download their forms by midnight of 31st May, 2021 to avoid any inconvenience.”

Although one won’t be able to file any of the forms but for other forms due date has been already extended, however Form 15CA and 15CB is mandatorily required in most cases of making payment outside India and without this one cannot remit money outside India.

Hence, it has been advised everyone to prepare the Form 15CB and 15CA well in advance before 31.05.2021 midnight as one could mention a future date as proposed date of remittance and use the 15CB for remittance of money.

Also, CBDT has advised it’s officers to not fix any hearing during this period and to either preponed the same or schedule it after 10.06.2021.

2. New domain address for the new e-filing website:

It is important to note that not only the e-filing website is getting revamped with new features but the e-filing website will be shifted altogether from the existing domain address i.e. https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home to the new address i.e.

“https://www.incometax.gov.in/“.

 

If you visit this address now only an image has been posted on that website which will show that website is on it’s way as can be seen in the image below:

From the image it can be seen that the look of the website will completely change and it will be a more organized and more smooth website.

Let’s see if the new website solves various issues of people which they having with old website which were mainly on payment of tax and customer care end as both have been promised in the press release.
