Clarification of MCA with regard to using of CSR funds for Covid relief and setting up make shift hospitals

MCA has issued an Appeal to the companies and it’s owners, wherein it has thanked people for their contribution in relief work against Covid and also about the initiative by DRDO to set-up make shift hospital.

In this regard MCA has issued a clarification vide Circular No. 05/2021, wherein it has mentioned that any amount used by companies for setting up make shift hospitals and temporary Covid care facilities is an eligible CSR activity under item no. (i) and (xii) of schedule VII.

The companies may undertake the above activities in consultation with state government.

Further, it has appealed to companies that looking at increasing Covid cases and work from home, companies could use their vacant buildings and convert them into Covid centres with isolation bed or oxygen beds to cater increasing Covid cases.
