As we know during this pandemic CBDT was issuing press release for many decisions. However such press releases cannot be law, thus now notification has been issued to make all such announcements more concrete.
CBDT has even extended various due dates as were mentioned in previous ordinance which is as under:
Due date for filing revised/ belated return for FY 2018-19 (AY 2019-20) has been extended to 31.07.2020 which was earlier extended to 30.06.2020.
Due date for filing return of income for FY 2019-20 (AY 2020-21) has been extended to 30.11.2020 as was announced in Press Release.
Due date for filing TDS/ TCS return for quarter ending March, 2020 has been extended to 15.07.2020 from previous due date of 30.06.2020. Due date for issued of certificate (Form 16) for deduction or payment of tax u/s 192 (i.e. salary) for FY 2019-20 has been extended to 15.08.2020.
Due date for making investment under section 54 to 54GB which was due 20.03.2020 to 29.06.2020 has now been extended to 29.09.2020 and beginning of manufacture or production where letter of approval has been issued on or before 31.03.2020 is 30.09.2020.
Due date for making payment under Heading B of Chapter VI-A i.e. 80C, 80D, 80G etc and to claim deduction for FY 2019-20 has been extended to 31.07.2020.
Due date for submitting audit report for FY 2019-20 is 31.10.2020.
If your tax payable is above Rs. 1 lakh for FY 2019-20 after claiming deduction of TDS, advance tax etc then interest u/s 234A shall be applicable from original due date and not this extended due date of 30.11.2020.
Last date to apply for Vivad se vishwas scheme is 31.12.2020

There are few other announcement which were not included in notification but were made in Press release and may become part of future notification which are as under:
Due date for linking PAN with Aadhar has been extended to 31.12.2020.
The date for passing of order or issuance of notice by the authorities and various compliances under various Direct Taxes & Benami Law which are required to be passed/ issued/ made by 31st December, 2020 has been extended to 31st March, 2021.
The reduced rate of interest of 9% for delayed payments of taxes, levies etc. specified in the Ordinance shall not be applicable for the payments made after 30th June, 2020.
