CBDT has vide circular No. 21 of 2022 Dt. 27.10.2022 extended the due date for Form 26Q.
On consideration of difficulties arising in timely filing of TDS statement in Form 26Q on account of revision of its format and consequent updation required for its filing, the Central Board of Direct Taxes, in exercise of its powers under section 119 of the Income Tax Act, 1961, hereby extends the due date of filing of Form 26Q for the second quarter of financial year 2022-23 from 31st of October, 2022 to 30th of November, 2022.
Due date for TDS return has been extended due to some extension in the format till 30.11.2022.
However, please note that no extension has been provided for salary return in Form 24Q and TDS return in Form 27Q, TDS deducted in case of non-resident, hence the due date for salary TDS return in Form 24Q and non-resident TDS return in Form 27Q is still 31.10.2022.
